Standing in a queue, I could easily recognise the angry, young activists in front. Back from an evening of protest marches, on the move to the next location to join the comrades in another city to make this a memorable winter of disquiet. Discussion was heating up, notes being exchanged to win that all important FB/Twitter debate…the queue inched forward. One of them enthusiastically played a song for others, “Hum Kaagaz Nahi Dikhayenge”…. I could hear loud and clear. A flurry of tweets, retweets and posts follow. Queue moved forward. We’ve reached the entrance. Security stops us and asks for ticket and ID card.
Head still buried in the screen, I see them hand over ticket and ID card. Security officer approves and let them in to the airport. I watch in amusement as the group rushed for security check. Song is still playing in the distance, “Hum Kaagaz Nahi Dikhayenge.”
The revolution has begun.
